Planning mode
Planning mode is the full workspace. It includes Itinerary, Budget, Reservations, Packing, and Settings. Use it before the trip, or switch back to it whenever you need to make a broader change.
Traveling mode
Traveling mode focuses on the day in front of you. During an active trip it opens around today, with weather, alerts, schedule progress, routes, directions, bookings, and the day's map close at hand. You can still move to another trip day.
Switching modes does not create a separate itinerary. Both views use the same plans, reservations, travel legs, and progress.
